Today we had the opportunity to go down to the courts and be taught how to use the schools set of Sphero robots. It was an excellent follow on from the last term where we learnt about BeeBots. During this time we learnt how to connect the Spheros to the iPads, how to drive them around using controls on the iPad, and how to aim them so that they do not drive in the wrong direction. It was important to collaborate, making sure that each person had a turn of driving the Sphero and that we were demonstrating excellent listening skills while Mrs. Bennett explained how to use the robots effectively. It was a lot of fun!

Healthy Harold
On Thursday we had the opportunity to visit Healthy Harold in the life education van. The students were very excited to either meet him for the first time or to meet him again. The purpose of our visit this year was to talk about friendship to reinforce what we have been discussing over the course of this term. Throughout our time in the van, we organised things that good friends do into coloured hula hoops, practised how to say things to others in nice ways instead of mean ways, talked about how to recognise emotions in ourselves and others, understand what our body does when it is scared, and some things to do to help ourselves not feel as scared. Overall it was a great time and all the students were disappointed that they had to leave. We look forward to seeing them again next year.
