Week 7

Wow, what a week we have had in Kindergarten. From Taronga Zoo to Flying Fox Park we have certainly been busy. We had a fantastic time at the Zoo where we were able to walk around in small groups to see as much as we could in the morning. The favourites being the giraffes, meerkats, tigers, and elephants.

Afterwards, we watched the seal show and were amazed as we got to see how well trained they are. Mr. Donaldson even got called up to meet one of the sea lions! Next, we had more time to walk around before heading to the Backyard to Bush area where we got to do our workshop. During this time we were able to pat a ring-tailed possum and a blue tongue lizard. We learnt about how we need to keep our pets at home locked up at night as well as making sure we don't feed the wildlife. We even got to feed some goats and chickens!!

Flying Fox Park was also a good learning experience where our conversation led us to talking about the rubbish we saw on our walk and ways to make sure it is put in the bin. Some of our ideas were to write a letter to council, build robot rubbish bins that pick up the rubbish for us and picking up any rubbish we see so that others can see us being a good example. We look forward to following up on some of these ideas in the coming weeks!
